The Carpet

In my living room, we had those wonderful curtains. We were only able to send the carpet to America. It's now in in my living room :)

A Birthday in Our Home

I had one miscarriage after Eddy was born. I remember that the doctor would come to visit in the mornings and I would insist that I stopped feeling life in my belly. It was a pain for me when I woke up one morning and the child was gone. Still, I have been blessed with my three children and in this photo, we were celebrating Eddy's birthday. Eddy is on my right, Philip is before me, and Lynn is still in my belly.

The Chitayatte Garden

On Fridays, we gathered in the beautiful garden of Mr. and Mrs. Chitayatte's home. The home would become confiscated on the accusations of treason by Iraq officials. We had a good life before then, a spoiled life with help and drivers. But even if I was offered a castle today I would never revisit, not after all the pain we went through trying to get out.

In Iran

I married in 1954 and moved to Iran from London. It was a good life in Iran at the time, luxurious in the time of the Shah. I would give birth to my first son in 1956 in Bagdad and return to Iran with him.
